Join Our Team and Shape the Future of Environmental Restoration
Are you deeply committed to environmental conservation and eager to make a meaningful impact on our natural surroundings? Do you bring 3 to 10 years of experience in water resources, environmental restoration, or land development, with a solid grasp of ecological and hydrological processes crucial for ecosystem restoration, water quality, and stormwater management in the southeastern United States?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, we have an exciting opportunity for you in our Charlotte, NC office (open to other locations as well). We are in search of a skilled Environmental Designer to enhance our project teams. This role involves designing intricate ecosystem restoration projects, conducting field assessments, and working on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, as well as stormwater management tasks.
Desired Qualifications
·A four-year degree in biological systems, civil, agricultural, or environmental engineering, geomorphology, environmental science, or related field of study.
·3-10 years of design experience.
·Experience with design of water resource projects, ecosystem restoration projects, land development, and/or stormwater control measures.
·A general understanding of ecological processes relevant to riparian and wetland restoration in the southeastern United States.
·Experience with hydrologic and/or hydraulic modeling and understanding of open channel flow.
·Experience with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
·Experience with the preparation of construction documents including construction plans, erosion control, bid estimates, technical specifications, and technical reporting.
·A graduate degree in a related field and/or professional licensure as an Engineering Intern or Professional Engineer is preferred.
·Proficiency using Microsoft Office including Excel
·Ability to meet the physical demands needed to complete various field assignments
·Must have valid driver’s license
Physical Demands
·Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
·Long hours in front of a computer and computer screen.
·Ability to frequently walk over rough, uneven surfaces
·Ability to sustain periods of strenuous physical exertion
·Part of the job requirements and the physical demands are performed in outdoor weather conditions with frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and extreme heat or cold. Other adverse factors may include exposure to ticks and poison ivy.
